後天卦配河圖之象 Post-Trigrams x HE-TU

啓蒙附論曰圖之一六為水即後天之坎位也三八為木即後天震巽之位也二七為火即後天之離位也四九為金即後天兌乾之位也五十為土即後天之坤艮周流四季而偏旺於丑未之交也蓋所以象五氣之順布

The Qimeng Fulu (Supplementary Commentary on Enlightenment) ctext states:

In HE-TU

  • 1 and 6 represent ㊌WATER, corresponding to the Post-Natal position of ☵WATER (North).
  • 3 and 8 represent ㊍WOOD, corresponding to the Post-Natal positions of ☳THUNDER and ☴WIND (East and Southeast).
  • 2 and 7 represent ㊋FIRE, corresponding to the Post-Natal position of ☲FIRE (South).
  • 4 and 9 represent ㊎METAL, corresponding to the Post-Natal positions of ☱LAKE and ☰HEAVEN (West and Northwest).
  • 5 and 10 represent ㊏EARTH, corresponding to the Post-Natal positions of ☷EARTH and ☶MOUNTAIN (Southwest and Northeast), circulating through the four seasons and reaching peak prosperity at the transition between E1CHOU (Winter) and E7WEI (Summer).
  • This arrangement symbolizes the orderly distribution of the Five Phases, reflecting their harmonious flow and cyclical balance in nature.
